Everything involved in the removal and cleaning of a hair system should not be rushed. By paying care and attention whilst removing your hair system will help the longevity of the hair system.

We strongly advise all our clients to use a headband when removing their hair systems to protect their eyes. Put on a headband around the circumference of the head and position it above your eyebrows. The headband will prevent solvent from getting into your eyes.

To remove a lace system, spray or using a dropper to deposit 99% Isopropyl Alcohol/Lace Release (Lace Release Spray) all around the perimeter area or alternatively just around the area you wish to remove. Spray a light mist directly between the base and your scalp while peeling up the unit.

Wait for a couple of minutes for the bond to release before gently lifting the lace away from the scalp or hair. The adhesive residue is released from the lace. When removing a lace hair system whether it is taped or perimeter bonded you MUST completely release the bond from the adhesive or tape. The 99% Isopropyl Alcohol/Lace Release should have been left on for a few minutes, the lace should release from the bond smoothly. This will minimize hair loss.

If you are using lace tape at the front, again 'drip' the 99% Isopropyl Alcohol/Lace Release through the lace; give this a few moments and then 'peel' the lace back. The tape should still be adhered to the scalp and the lace should be clear of most of the residue.

If you have taped all the way around without adhesive do the same as the above.

In order to avoid damaging your front hairline of a lace system, we recommend always removing your hair system from back to front.

Should you have any resistant adhesive residue around the perimeter area of your hair line, your scalp or on your actual hair, we advice you to gently wash the area with warm water then apply a reasonable amount of C-22 Citrus Solvent. Proceed to gently rub the area with your fingers, picking away any adhesive residue until all the residue comes off.

Rinse off the area using warm water, then apply some shampoo and wash the area until all oil is cleaned out. Next rinse the area with warm water and then towel dry.
